A visit to the Dahbashi Engineering company

On the13th of February, Saturday, we the commerce students of Year 9 and 10 were taken on an educational trip accompanied by Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Merlin, to a company named Dahbashi Engineering(DE).

We reached the company, located in the Al Qouz area around 11am, and were eagerly looking forward to an exciting and an eventful day ahead. We were greeted by Ms. Farida Ahmed, Human Resource Manager of DE and also the daughter of Mr. Saleem Ahmed, the CEO of the company. We were led to their “training room” by Mr. Mudar who guided us throughout the day. We began with a short presentation by Mr. Mudar taking us through the firm’s history, their current status, what they really do and their future aims and visions.

Dahbashi Engineering was established in 1985 and has completed 25 years. They deal in spare parts of earth moving machines and their maintenance and repairs and they also deal in batteries for different purposes. Their branches have spread out all over the U.A.E as well as countries like S.A, Kuwait and Oman.

After knowing the basic details of what their business is actually about, we were taken to all the other workplaces like the warehouse and their workshops where we learnt about machines and batteries, their purposes and how they should be handled.

“Knowledge is to mind as food is to body” After we had seen all the areas, we were led to the canteen where we had a fantastic buffet organized courteously by the managers of the company.

The day ended with a short presentation by the IT Manager Mr.Riyaz Ahmed.

We returned home in great spirits with so much to tell.

We thank our School for organizing this wonderful trip where we found an opportunity to witness our textbook theories in real life. Also if it wouldn’t have been for the kind gestures of Mr. Saleem Ahmed and the Dahbashi team, we would have been deprived of this marvelous, classic experience.

Thank You!
