Choosing the subjects of study in years 9, 10 and 11 is an important step for our students who are currently studying in year 8 to plan their career path. The subjects that they choose to study in these years will determine which university programs they can get into.
It is a tough decision to make the transition from the world of school to the world of work. However, it is often seen that when students are equipped with adequate knowledge, skills and right attitudes the transition from school to university and to work becomes easier.
In an effort to ensure that our students in year 8 make the best career choices, the students of year 8 and the parents were invited to attend the ‘IGCSE Subject Options Orientation’ programme.
The aim of the orientation was to provide the necessary and relevant information to choose the IGCSE subjects wisely. Parents and students were able to gather information on the course aims, assessments and course components for the different subjects that Al Ameen offers.

10.00 AM -Welcome Address – Principal
10.05 AM - Career Counseling: Speaker: Mrs. Sudha Srivalsan, Counselor
10.30 AM - Presentation on career choices / courses offered at Mahe Manipal University:
Speaker: Student Counselor, Mahe Manipal University, Dubai
11 AM – IGCSE subjects offered at Al Ameen: Speaker: Mrs. Sadia Junaid, HoS
11.15 AM – An overview of IGCSE Accounting, Economics and Business Studies
Speaker: Mrs. Merlin Gisha
11:10 AM - Choosing your subjects
Speaker: Master Hatim Asgar Ali, Year 11 Student, Al Ameen Private School
11.15 AM - Distribution of Options Booklet and Individual meeting with subject specialists / HoS /  Counselor
