“The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.”
- Vince Lombardi
On the 17th of February 2010, girls of Year 6 and above had their Sports Day in the premises of Al Thiqah Club.
The occasion was presided over by Bensaheba Ummulkiram Bensaheba Jamaluddin who inaugurated the event and gave the guard of honor.
With excitement in the air, the students assembled house-wise on the tracks for the March Past led by the student council members and followed by the red, blue, yellow and the green houses. The house advisors cheered the participants and shared inspiring & encouraging words. Then came the much-awaited track and field events!! Students participated with much enthusiasm in all the events - events that were a bead of tradition. The day culminated with the exciting event of the day; the tug of war between the parents and teachers, and then the students and parents.
And finally the results were announced. Much to their delight, the Red House - Hizbul Jihad took away the March Past Trophy as well as the House Trophy. They were followed by the blue house. The yellow house took the 3rd prize and lastly, on the 4th position came the green house.
After months of hard work and training and the joint effort of the teachers as well as the students, this event was surely a very successful one.
All the children returned home happily showing off their gold, silver or bronze medals, having many stories to tell.
