Peace Makers in Action
"Gold medals aren't really made of gold. They're made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts."
- Dan Gable
Weeks of preparation culminated in a day of fun, challenges and enthusiasm on February 19th, the Annual Athletic Meet.
The hum of excitement accelerated with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Kinana Bhaisaheb and after the invocation the much awaited excitement began. Amidst cheerful shouts from participants, parents and teachers alike, the torch relay took off with aplomb to set the tone for the day. Right at the very outset, the houses pitted against each other, vying for first position in the march past display. The colourful array of uniforms and accessories added to the festive air.
Students displayed their prowess in a series of drills, gymnastics and karate displays, pyramid formations and yoga exercises.
Students of all sizes and shapes dashed on to the field, taking part in track and field events, striving hard to win positions to contribute to their house points. However, only one house that won the overall championship trophy was the Red House.
As the sun set in the west, the evening turned solemn with the closing ceremony. Tired but happy students and staff bid adieu to the day and proud parents took their children home.
