>> CURRICULUM

The school follows the National Curriculum of England from the foundation stage to year 9 and IGCSE from Cambridge University in years 10 and 11. The curriculum, enriched through a variety of carefully planned activities, including field work and visits, is broad and challenging. Students' work is continuously monitored and assessed and their progress is regularly reported to parents.

Foundation Stage (Kg and Pre-first)
Foundations for the life-long process of education are laid down in the Primary phase. This is when a child’s interest all around him or her is most readily awakened by good teaching and intellect and mind are at their most receptive stimulus of new ideas and events.
In the Foundation Stage, from the age of 3, students' academic, physical, social, aesthetic and emotional development is encouraged within a balanced and structured approach to learning.
Play-way methods that develop their basic motor skills, phonic methods and graded writing patterns are followed for building a comprehensive foundation. Click here to view Phonic methods for arabic language

The early learning goals for students in the foundation stage:
• Confident to try things, initiate ideas and speak in a group
• Able to maintain attention, concentrate and sit still
• Interested, excited and motivated to learn.
• Respectful of their culture
•Able to show a range of feelings including joy, awe, wonder and sorrow.

Key Stage I (Years I and 2 )
At AAPS, we take strength from the very best of British education, which together with the expertise of well qualified teachers deploying the very latest methods of teaching and learning, offers a curriculum that enables pupils to achieve their academic potential and ensures that each child becomes a life-long learner. They advance in their learning of Lisan-u-Dawat along with the introduction of Arabic.

KEY STAGE 2 (Years 3, 4, 5 and 6) and KEY STAGE 3 (Years 7, 8 and 9)
Students in this programme follow Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 of the National Curriculum for England, which continues to build on the foundations that are established in Kindergarten and Key Stage 1.

Ongoing assessment ensures that each child's progress and development are continuous and meet predetermined standards. We encourage students to think independently, use their initiative and to participate in a meaningful and active manner in the learning process. The core subjects, along with the Deeniyaat subjects help in building this personality required for our students, so that when they are ready to face the outer world they strike an optimum balance by adhering to Shari’at.
