Graduation Day

The Foundation Stage section was abuzz with excitement as enthusiastic children were all geared up with their blue sashes and their class badge pinned on it, waiting to go to the school auditorium. It was Wednesday, 27th May 2009 and the occasion was none other than the Graduation Day of the Foundation Stage 2 students followed by an inter class Quiz competition.

The Guest of Honour, Ben Saheba Ummul Kiram Ben Saheb along with the members of the Board of Governors, parents, Principal, Masool, and staff members, witnessed the felicitation of the students. After the giving away of the certificates by the Principal and Masool, the graduates recited a choral poem to celebrate the milestone where they would soon be entering the Primary section. Many thanks to Mrs. Zeenat Munir for spearheading the welcome letters, written by the Year 1 students to the Foundation Stage 2 students. The Foundation Stage 1 students too, congratulated their friends through a short choral poem.

The Quiz competition soon followed. Sumptuous strawberries, Luscious leeches, Chunky cherries and Rosy raspberries….. we are not talking here of delicious fruit servings. These were the names of the four teams, which housed four participants each. It was amazing and amusing to watch the five year olds giving the answers within the 30 second time slot. And could you guess this? All the four teams had secured full marks!!! The winners finally were the Luscious Leeches after some tie breakers were asked. The certificates to the winners and the participants were given away by our respected Guest of Honour.

It was a day, which has made memory in the minds of the little graduates and their proud parents.
