Mad about Science

‘Mad Science’ is offered by the world’s leading fun science provider.

The students of the kindergarten section and those of years 1-6 enjoyed a fun-filled half an hour on Tuesday, the 7th of October, as two members from ‘The Mad Science Association’ came to school and demonstrated various interesting experiments.

The topic that they chose for this session was “AIR”.

The students were able to understand the term “air pressure”. Through various experiments, the representatives showed the students that air, which is ‘invisible’ and seemingly ‘weightless’, can move objects - big and small. The students were so charged, their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn, had to be seen to be believed.

The duration of the program is 6 weeks.
It will be held in the school premises every Thursday between 2.45 – 3.45 p.m.
Dates of the program: October 16, 23, 30, November 9, 16 & 27, 2008

Students will participate in a variety of hands – on, inquiry based, themed – activities namely: Acids and Bases, Dry Ice, Laser light, Matter of fact, Rocket Demo, Space the Final Frontier
A key component of the activity is the “take – home project”.
Simply put, it does not try to trick the children into learning, but they are having so much fun, they don’t realize just how much they are learning! These sessions will be conducted by staff from the ‘Mad Science’ Association.
